Short answer: yes, or equivalent; there are others, including xf4vnc
(http://xf4vnc.sourceforge.net/). VNC 4 also includes this capability,
as I recall.
Depends on your platform; not all VNC :0 viewers will build on all
platforms (generally Linux is OK, but other Unix systems may not be).
I ran across gemsvnc recently (http://www.elilabs.com/~rj/gemsvnc/),
which is yet another varation on the same theme. KDE also includes a
VNC :0 viewer ('Remote Desktop Sharing', in the control panel).
