each box can successfully ping each other; there is no
firewall set between these internal machines...

What did I miss in the setup?

fc2 box-
localhost:1 | promptforpasswd > success, see own
desktop

fc2 try vnc neighboring WINXP_Pro box-
192.168.1.10:0 Gets passwd prompt then dies
192.168.1.10:1 No passwd prompt, dies
192.168.1.10:5900 gets passwd prompt but dies
192.168.1.10:5901 no passwd prompt
192.168.1.10 gets passwd prompt but dies - but is this
the passwd for vnc on fc2 or passwd on WINXP-Pro box?
I never set one on the WINXP box...

any help appreciated,
kate
