Thats for the vncviewer binary, also used by the java-viewer. It shows the
vncserver is running.

On port 5900, you should get the same "RFB 003.008" message. If not, then it
will not work.

nope, thats the display number. It can be changed in the vncserver and changes
the portnumber: display :4 runs on port 5904 and has a webserver on port 5804.

First get the binary-viewer (`vncviewer`) working on the local lan.
If internet-access is needed, get it working from there too.
Once vncviewer works, try the webserver on the local lan.
If realy needed, try the webserver from the internet, but I regard this as a
security-leak: You don't leave a ladder out on the street, do you?
