I4ve seen this prob.
Did you change the Displaynumber?
try to connect to the portnumber you entered when you installed VNC.
After logon you will probably get disconnected and then you can connect
using the new portnumber.
this works for one of my servers.

Betreff: can't connect to win2K server until service is stop/started
Hi. Sorry if this is known; I was unable to find a solution in the archives.
(I found people with the same problem, but no replies ;)
I have a regular VNC installation on win2Ksp4, and it works fine and all,
except that each time the machine is rebooted, I can't connect via VNC until
someone logs into the machine *and* stop/starts the VNC service. From then
on I can connect fine, with no difference in settings on the server or
viewer side. Has anyone seen this problem?
Another user in the archives seemed to think this might have to do with
firewalls. I don't know why it would, but my setup is similar to his - a
cable modem that acts as a firewall that's set up to forward ports 5800/5900
to the machine in question. Would that impact this issue?
I hope someone has some insight on this... VNC would be so much more useful
if I could reboot the machine *and* get back in afterwards! ;)
