Win98 can't get VNC to work over Linksys router

Hi all,

I'm new to the list and need help. I have 2 Win98SE boxes that are using RealVNC very nicely over the LAN, but I can't get them to work over the internet. I promise you I have spent hours wading through the documentation for VNC and searching the archives of this list, but the help is not clear enough for me to understand.

My machines don't have names, they have particular IP addresses (192.168.1.100 & 192.168.1.104). I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 ver 1.5. I have found the "Port Forwarding" section of the router setup page. I don't understand the numerous references to forward port 5900+N, where N is the display number of the machine. When I use VNC on one machine to control the other machine I use the IP address of the other machine and ":0"

I have only Win9X experience and no UNIX/Linux experience. I'm desperate. Can someone please help me before I have a stroke?

Thanks, Scott
