Display problem in konsole redhat9.0

Hi Folks

My VNC connects fine
but when I open a session in konsole
character application display a little square box instead of
the normal line drawing characters
I think the character#'s are

179 ?
180 ?
181 ?
182 ?
183 ?
184 ?
185 ?
186 ?
187 ?
188 ?
189 ?
190 ?
191 ?
192 ?
193 ?
194 ?
195 ?
196 ?
197 ?
198?
199?
201?
202?
211?
212?
somthing like that
from the server the through konsole it display correctly
I am also using xdmcp x11
and a standard pcterm emulator historical vt100 etc.
