Simple Firewall question

Want to connect to my workcomputer (VNC Server) from
home (VNC Viewer).

The workcomputer has a adslrouter with firewall and I
can configure it, but what should i do?
Port forward something?

I THINK I should open up for port 5900 only, the
router has port forwarding capabilities.

But what about open both incoming/outgoing ports?
Please this should be very simple I think !?
