Viewer disappears after successful login - Windows client and server

Hi,
    I'm trying to run VNC Viewer 3.3.7 on Windows 2000 Pro connecting to VNC
Server running on XP Pro and the Viewer disappears immediately after I
successfully log in.

    I saw an old post that suggested making sure that the host and client
Displays are set to the same resolution and color settings so I adjusted my
local color setting to match the host's but this didn't work.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?
