Connection problem

Hi all,
I'm newbie with vnc and i have a problem connecting to my server (200 miles
from me). Any help would be apreciated:

    I "ping" my server without problems.
    The port 5900 is open on the server.
    No error messages in the client when attempting to connect.
    No password prompt in the client.

Any ideas?
