Unknown VNC authentication result - BUG! Reason found!

Dear James,

I'm running the VNC server 3.3.7 on linux debian distribution.
I tried the last 4.0b5-binary for linux on the woody debian and (after
setting a symbolic link to the asked libstdc++ in the log file)
the bug could not be reproduced with the simple "bell.c"-program.
So, I think the VNC 4.0 version in not affected by this problem but the
offical stable 3.3.7 is.

Will the bug be fixed in the stable verion or is the 3.3.7 version frozen?
