Yes, you can. In its bare essence, the viewer is only an application that shows
a picture and grabs keyboard- and mouse-events.
The other side of vncviewer is the communication with the vncserver: the rfb
protocol. Your citrix-server must allow you to do that.
In the end, you have a desktop machine that shows the citrix display. If routing
is no problem (you can ping and access the vncserver machine from the desktop)
then it is better to use a vncviewer at the desktop and remove the citrix
interferance.
On the other hand, if you have no direct access between desktop and the
vncserver machine but you can get the vncviewer inside the citrix environment,
then it is a suitable solution.
If you cannot use the vncviewer.exe in the citrix environment but you can use a
webbrowser, you can even use the java-vncviewer at http://vncserver:5800/.
However it is by far better for all to ask your sysadmin to put the vncviewer
app somewhwere in the citrix environment.
