Help needed in ddi hooking implementation

  I wants to develop ddi hooking for my screen capture
application.I came to know that have to build 16 bit
dll for hooking (setddihook) . I don't know how to
build this 16 bit dll under winodws.

 Can any body please help me to develop ddi hooking
part..??

 I also come across other functions for hooking gdi
such as EngAssociateSurface , EngBitBlt ..etc.Can we
use these method for hooking instead of setddihook???
I just got this information from msdn...

  Any help or tips on this regard will prove to be
great help...
