Pseudocolour and and graphics Quality

Dear All,

 

A couple of days back I posted a problem that I was having where an
application generated "Message: Cannot get PseudoColor Visual 8 bits deep."
When I tried to start it.

Thanks to Miro who suggested -cc 3 -depth 8 would fix things. - The
application now starts fine.

The problem now is that the graphics quality is too low for the users to
work with. (not really a surprise I guess!)

The application doesn't come with any significant documentation that I can
find, so that's not much help.

I've seen other posts here which referred to running CAD apps at the same
settings I'm using, so I'd imagine they had similar requirements for good
quality graphics - what should I be looking at next?
