The 4.0b4 x0vncserver used to listen on port 5998 by default rather than 
5900 (this has been fixed in the version 4.0 release).  You can either 
(a) give an rfbport=5900 argument to x0vncserver, or (b) connect to 
vncviewer<IP>:98 instead of :0.

However you will get much better performance by installing the vnc.so 
module and using that.
