sub area of the VNC

Hello,

I want to modify the VNC in a way to get only the update of a sub area of 
the server screen. I want to know where i can modify the source code and 
how to compile it.
I have already a peace of code that must do the work but i don t know how i 
can put it into the initial source code to get only the sub area that i am 
interesting in.
