Keyboard input lost and left mouse button reacts as if I pressed the right button

When I connect to a VNC4 server installed as service 
under win2k with a VNC4 viewer from a win2k machine, 
keyboard input and correct handling of the mouse 
buttons is often - but not always - lost after the 1st login: 
After login everything is fine. When I lock the 
workstation (ctr-alt-del followed by "lock workstation") 
and want to login again, keyboard input of the password 
does not work. The only way to get access to the 
machine is to write the password in an editor, to copy it 
into the clipboard and to enter it with copy / paste. 
However, although I get access to the PC by this 
method, pressing the left mouse button has an effect as 
if I had pressed the right button. I can still launch a 
program by choosing "open" in the menu displayed after 
pressing the left mouse button. However, keys are not 
correctly displayed and sometimes even give the same 
result as ctr-alt-del. After re-booting everything is correct 
again until I lock / unlock the workstation again. The 
same happens when I connect via the java viewer from 
IE6. What can I do? Thanx for help. Dieter
