Error creating socket

hi!
i'm using win98 & winxp on network.
win98 is on dial-up with internet
connection sharing (ICS) installed.
on winxp i share the same net connection.
real vnc was running fine on both till last night. but due to some problem, i
needed to remove the networking components on win98 & reinstalled them. from
that time onwards the real vnc is unable to connect saying "Error creating
socket" in win98 & "Failed to connect" in winxp.

did i removed any required
files/components??
(the network & ICS is working fine.)
can anybody plz tell
me what must have happened?
any solution?
