Clipboard Problems VNC4.0

I have installed VNC4 on my Solaris, Linux
and XP computers all works well with a the
exception of the cut and paste between
viewer and local machine.  I  can cut and
paste between 2 XP machines, but I can not
between ANY machine and a Linux/Unix machine.
Options on the Linux/Unix machines show that
they should be sending and accepting clipboard
content??
