Shifted keypad arrow keys in 4.0b4 not working

The keyboard in use is a Standard 101/102 keyboard (US).

Environments tested in (all locales are US):

1. Server: SuSE 8.1 with x86_Linux 4.04b Xvnc 2313216 2003-09-04 07:54
   Server Application: NetBeans 3.5 editor
   Viewer: WinXP Sp1 with VNC Viewer Win32 3.3.7 built Mar 5 2003 at 13:54:22

   Shifted keypad arrow keys highlight/select text in editor.

   Viewer: WinXP Sp1 with VNC Viewer Win32 4.0b4 built Sep 4 2003 at 14:52:54

   Shifted keypad arrow keys only move text cursor
   and not highlighting/selection occurs.

I noticed in the 4.0b3 release notes that
'New keyboard mapping algorithms' were implemented.

Version 4 seems to have lost the shift-keypad-arrow sequence
functionality.
