Disable Local Cursor rendering in your viewer - this will force the server to send the pointer image, so that it will reflect where the actual cursor is. Your local cursor will then be a small "dot" cursor. The behaviour in this case will be improved in the next release of VNC 4. Cheers, Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.
