Viewer is blank

I'm new to using VNC.
I have the server installed on a WindowsXP Home
system.  I can run a viewer and see the log-in screen
with the various users.  When a user logs-in, the
screen then goes black.  If a request a screen
refresh, it doesn't change anything - still black.

Any advice?
