can not get linux vnc to work

I've been all through the archives and am still stuck.
I'm trying to get it to attach to session 0 by using the x11 
configuration file with no success.  The biggest problem is i can not 
find a place to put the option line in where x11 won't complain it's 
invalid and crash out.  I've got the directions to do this here

vnc 4.0 (downloaded from the frontpage of realvnc)
