openssh - connection reset by peer

anyone get this?  i'm running openssh on windows server 2003 with all patches.  pretty much a standard install of openssh (i'm running it on port 443 but had the same error when running it on port 22).  i've connected several times from work today with no problems.  vnc'd through it and all was good.  now, the most recent time i tried to connect i get "Network error: Software caused connection abort" when using putty and "Fatal: Network error: Connection reset by peer" when using psftp.  no changes have been made on either end.  it just worked several times throughout the day and then it decided to not work.  anyone have any instances of openssh just stop working?  i know if i go home and reboot the server it'll start working again for some random amount of time.
