VNC 4, vnc.so:0 - "Server closed connection unexpectendly"

VNC 4, vnc.so - "Server closed connection unexpectendly"

This only happens when trying to connect to :0 from another PC on the LAN.
I can connect to :1 fine.

If I change the preferred encoding to raw, I get another error message:
read: Connection aborted (10053)


What do I need to do to make a connection to :0 when using vnc.so from 
XFree86 of redhat 8
