X Error: BadAccess

Hi, I cannot run an application that works from both console and exceed.
In VNC, I get the following error:

X Error:  BadAccess
  Request Major code 28 ()
  Error Serial #4132
  Current Serial #5900


I've tried running it with -cc 3 -depth 8 but it still doesn't work,
just changes the message slightly to:

X server does not support backing store.
Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for default background
Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "black"
Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "white"
Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "green"
Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "blue"
X Error:  BadAccess
  Request Major code 28 ()
  Error Serial #4231
  Current Serial #5852

I searched the FAQ and the mailing list but did not find a solution.
