Viewer disconnects

I have been running v3.3.7 for many months and all has been well. However, after upgrading both the client and server machines (both Win2k) with a bunch of Microsoft security patches, I get frequent client disconnects. Logging shows:

rdr::Exception: rdr::SystemException: read: Unknown error (10054)
Deregistered connection from app
Exiting
VNC viewer closing down
 
Any ideas??
