This sounds more like a routing problem then a VNC problem. How are you
routing between the subnets?

The firewall which the client machine is sitting behind shouldn't need any
special configuration, only the firewall protecting the server. In your SMC,
do you have the virtual ports pointing to the correct IP? Did you enable it
(little check box), did you restart the firewall after making the changes?
When you say it doesn't work, what error message do you get?
