Problems with VNC Service on WINDOWS 2000

Windows 2000 is running VNC as a service. When connecting from VNCViewer it accepts the password and says "connection closed". When connecting from UNIX I get the following:

inclement:~> vncviewer ***.***.***.***
VNC server supports protocol version 3.7 (viewer 3.3)
Password: 
VNC authentication succeeded
vncviewer: VNC server closed connection
inclement:~> 


Any ideas?
