Timer / Access Denied

1. Is there a timer on a VNC session. I started one via SSH, walked away for
a few minutes, and the session died.

2. I know this is probably SSH rather than VNC, but I have no problem
cranking up my SSH session whereas a colleague is getting Access Denied.
Probable reason?

VNC server is running on an RH 7.3 box. Clients are Win2K Pro.
