VNC Web Access?

Excuse me for asking what may be a well-beaten question, but
I just started using VNC and thought it'd be more practical
to ask here than to re-invent the wheel on my own.

I have a home network through a Linksys router to an ISP
(Comcast, formerly AT&T Broadband) that uses dynamic IPs.

I want to access a machine on my network from elsewhere on
the web (VNC works GREAT over the local network!).

Anyone do this? Would I have to move the target machine outside
the router/firewall? Poll the current IP address and send it
to the client machine outside the network (maybe that's a good
way to provide more security -- only make that IP address available
via login and, say, read it from e-mail?). Would I have to implement
some kind of IP masquerade or other device to enable this?

Any comments welcome. If this is old stuff, you can point me to
the "archives" or something so as not to waste the group's time.

TIA!

Mark
