1) Remove the vnc lock files except for lock.0
2) Kill the vncserver
3) Restart the vncserver
That should do it.
BTW, I just did that today. I just spent the afternoon reinstalling VNC
on a Windows box because all of a sudden the X image I got from my Linux
box was just a blue screen with nothing on it.
My mindset was so firmly that Win viewer was at fault...
At my wits' end, I finally restarted the Linux server as per the
above...and all is well again.
