Cut'N'paste problem from Solaris 8 server to windows XP viewer

Hi,

I saw a few posts in the past to this group about similar problems
however failed to find a good solution, so I would ask again.. Basically
the problem is about cut&paste from a VNC server running on a solaris
machine to a viewer running on a winXP pc..  Nothing happens when I
tried to select text on the server and paste to other programs on the XP
machine, looks like the selection never made it to the XP clipboard.

I tried autocutandsel but it did not help either (it does show set->cut
transfers though).  Cut&paste in the other direction is fine.  The
server version is version 3.3.7-sparc_solaris_2.5, and viewer is
tightVNC 1.2.9 (I tried realVNC viewer but it did not help either)..  I
suspect this is an XP thing, as the same setup worked fine on my win2000
machine before.

Anyway, I would really appreciate any input on this as I am at the end
of my rope here.  TIA,
