William, Mike, Ross, you can see in the files Terence posted that the 
"xstartup" script is OK and gets run, and that XRDB, Xsetroot, Xterm and TWM 
all complain that they can't connect to the display.

Terence, you told XVNC not to listen on a Unix socket, so the clients should 
connect to it with TCP instead. Have you checked (with Netstat for example) 
that XVNC listens on TCP port 6001?
