Internet sharing vs. VNC

Sure, you can. It does have a real IP address, it's just not routed like the public addresses. It can get tricky to access the laptop from some remote location on the Internet if the computer sharing the connection is, also, running the VNC server. Tricky, but not impossible. It depends on how committed you are to doing so. Local connections are not a problem, though.

Subject: Internet sharing vs. VNC

Hi. Allow me to post not-so-intelligent question here.
I share the internet connection between Desktop and laptop, which means I have only one IP address. My Desktop connects to Internet directly thru Cable modem, and the laptop is connected to Desktop. Is it possible to run VNC server on Laptop? I guess it does not have real IP (which has the one assigned from Desktop, 192. 168.0.something), am I right?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
