Error while java applet is loading when connecting to Win98 PC through IE6.0 browser.

For some reason I'm getting the following error while the java applet loads
when trying to connect to a Windows98SE PC running VNC Server through the
I.E.6.0 browser running on Windows XP Pro:
java.lang.Class.NotFoundException: vncviewer.class.  As a result of this
error, the password prompt screen never displays.  I tried reinstalling the
application and upgrading the host PCs browser to IE6.0 to no avail.  Can
you please tell me how to resolve this.  I've looked through the VNC website
for answers and came up with nothing.
