This is surely no rocket science, but I wanted to share an extension to
the problem I posed a few days ago - in case someone else might be
interested.
Here is the extended description:
WS_at_Home <-> NAT-box <-> Internet <-> Company_FW <-> WS_at_work
Actually, there is a firewall (iptables) in a NAT-box between
WS_at_Home and the Internet. I was looking for a solution that does not
use the screen of the NAT-box and does not use port-forwarding to
WS_at_Home, because there is more than one WS_at_Home.
So I did as suggested; with a user account created on the NAT-box. From
WS_at_Work I can now create the reverse ssh to the (user account) on
the NAT-box. When I'm home, I ssh -X into the NAT-box from one of those
WS_at_Home and run the vncviewer localhost:1
So I even don't have to log on as root to the NAT-box from neither
side.
Thanks for a great piece of software & competent support,
Uwe
