It works just fine. I've done that. You'll of course have to set up a web 
server (Apache for example) to hand out the applet. The web server won't be 
able to do the parameter substitution in the HTML file that XVNC does, so 
you'll have to edit the HTML file to put in the port number and the size of 
the applet.

It should also be possible to run a separate VNC server that only provides 
the applet, but there's not much of a point in doing that.
