Dear all,
(vnc 3.3.7 issue)
I'm using vnc to remotely administer a humanitas site.
I'm working over a connection via a two network servers:
-----------------------------------<VNC
connection>-----------------------------------
|
|
<client> --- <local (home) linux server> --- . --- <remote linux server>
--- <desktop to be administered>
Win2K SP2 Slackware 8.0, 2.4.20 Slackware 8.0, 2.4.18
Win2K SP2
VNC Client
VNC Server Service
Somehow, this doesn't work for all desktops in the remote network.
Especially one desktop doesn't work. I'm getting very fast a black
initial screen without a real cursor (only the dot).
However, when I do the same thing using following strategy:
--local VNC connection>- ---------------------<remote VNC
connection>--------------------
| | |
|
<client> --- <local (home) linux server> --- . --- <remote linux server>
--- <desktop to be administered>
Win2K SP2 Slackware 8.0, 2.4.20 Slackware 8.0, 2.4.18
Win2K SP2
VNC Client <-----> VNC Server
VNC Client
<------------------------------------------------> VNC Server
It works!
All other connections work. I can ping the remote Win2K machine from my
local Win2K machine.
Other remote Win2K machines work fine.
Is there any explanation for this behaviour?
Best regards,
Hans Oesterholt-Dijkema
