Persistent Drop Connections

I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have a sales agent that
travels a lot and we use vnc 3.3.4 so he can remote into his workstation
at the office. The laptop and workstation both run Win98se. The
connection passes thru a port in our firewall. The problem is vnc will
drop the connection several times in an hour. He can never stay logged
in for more then 5 minutes then gets dropped. When it drops it closes
the connection window on the laptop. Another problem he is experiencing
is that the viewer window doesn't seem to refresh properly. I have
checked all settings and made sure that they are the same on both
machines. Please help!!
