Hello everyone,

I use VNC to display realtime data on about 10 monitors from a live feed
via the Internet. I am using Professional (including the German version
of Professional) and 98 on all of the systems. The program works fine
for the most part, however occasionally I get one of the monitors
freezing up for about 10 seconds. Lately, one of our machines does this
somewhat more frequently (i.e. 3 times in 2 hours). This machine uses
Professional in German, and is running no other programs. (Network is
10/100Mb using TCP/IP)

I have tried polling just the active window (which is all I really
need), and using VNC Hooks to tie the refresh rate to the timer. This
doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Steve,

When you say "one of the monitors freezes up for about 10 seconds", do
you mean that updates to the client stop for a while?

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Either the client isn't updating, or the server isn't sending. I think it is the former, because (and I am assuming this) the server simply does a broadcast to specific IP addresses, and all of the other machines receive quick refreshes. One of the machines is a 166 Mhz Pentium, which has frozen only once. The other (real problem) machine is a 500 Mhz Intel.

Thanks!

Steve
