Hi,
I have read the FAQ and I know I am close to an answer
but, I am just not knowledgable enough with unix to
figure out what is wrong. I am taking my first class
with unix and I am attempting to create a vnc
connection so that I can connect to my red hat box and
practice my commands. Any help you can lend is greatly
appreciated and will build good karma! :)
I am running a vnc server on Redhat 8. I am connecting
to it from a windows pc and I am getting the infamous
grey screen. I have read the FAQ about needing to edit
my xstartup file and I have done this but, I have no
idea if I did the right thing.
Here is a copy of my xstartup:
#!/bin/sh
# Red Hat Linux VNC session startup script
exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
#ssjxterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title
"$VNCDESKTOP desktop" &
#ssj twm &
startkde &
Thanks again for any help you can provide!
Sincerely, Chris
