I have the next suggestion: Use an existing protocol and existing tools. I
know there is a network-sound protocol, I've seen it in linux (alsa sound
driver area? or was it the other sound driver?)
Then, start with changing server and client to start the sound server or
sound client. Once you have this running, you can leave it or try to move
the code into the vncserver or vnc client (if you have the guts).
Above all, better not move the sound protocol into the vnc protocol.
