VNC server won't serve clients

Hello,

I am trying to run VNC Server and it crashes immediately after connecting:
1. I run vnc viewer as follows "vncviewer ip_address:id";
2. I am asked for the password which I enter;
3. I get a kde crash dialog box and none of the icons of the target 
computer are shown on my screen; (kde splash exited abnormally with 
signal 11, sigserv)

The error log /root/.vnc/hostname:id.log does not tell me much about the 
crash.

Can you help??
