VNC with Zone Alarm

I have somehow missed the original post by Andrew, but wanted to add my 2
cents. I have been using ZAPro (currently v2.6.231) and VNC for eons. There
is no noticeable performance impact when ZAPro is either running or disabled.
There may be a brief delay on initial connection, but once the port is allowed
by ZAPro, traffic is normal. I would look for other areas of potential
problems, like virus scanners and such.

I'm using ZoneAlarm Pro... Maybe that is why I'm not seeing any errors
with
  VNC.?.?
Also, I'm using standard VNC 3.3.3R9.

I tried disabling ZAP and using VNC into the server and saw little or no
performance improvement. Logically, there should be something, but It
wasn't
enough of a change to catch my eye.

Thanks for this thread. I was planning on trying this tonight. It's just
what I needed to know. (Tomorrow, when it fails miserably, I'll need to
  know 'just something else'!! LOL!!)

By the way, Is the ZA pro worth the extra money? Does it really stop the
pop up ads? Will it further hamper VNC?

  Have a Good Day,

  Michael L.
