Sharing X sessions via VNC

Is there a way to configure the X window system to allow incoming 
connections to the default X session ie. session 0?  I cannot allow 
multiple sessions to run as memory is not limitless on the box in 
question.  Also, I have read through the web site, but I really don't 
want to install secondary protocols to get this to work.  I'd like to 
know if there's a way to allow this through vnc.  My boss has told me 
that there was an article in an issue of Linux Magazine, or perhaps 
Linux Journal, that covered this, but so far I've been less than 
successful at recoving that article.

Please, any help is appreciated.
