VNC newbie question

Hi:

I have been using VNC for a while, but have had a problem with sending
ctrl-alt-del commands, and also screen locks.  I have asked other local
(Vancouver, Canada) users I know about this and they are baffled.

General Info:

Windows 2000 and XP (3 different machines) - two on my work network, one at
home

VNC version 3.3.3 R9

The basics of the problem is this:

If I lock the server, no clients can log in.  The screen either flashes and
closes, or it says "connection closed".

Second, I cannot send the ctrl-alt-del command.  I have tried this at work,
and nothing happens.

I believe they are related problems, maybe with my setup.

I have seen someone demonstrate with a server in California that these
features DO work, so I am baffled.  Any help would be greatly appreciated,
as now, I have a security problem.
