I think this is not just a blackbox problem because I have noticed it in the
past and we have SOlaris 7 and RedHat 6.2 systems running Gnome. Mostly I
run with the Windows 2000 client.

I can't remember the details, I just know that I leaned not to switch to
full screen.

If is of any interest, I might get the chance to check it out next week as I
will be using the relevant systems.
