VNC uses it's own password file. You setup the password the first time
you ran vncserver per user. If you want to change the password, delete
the ~/.vnc/passwd file.

I don't know if this is your problem, but I always used "exec
I am now running Gnome2 and you know what? It does just like KDE2 did
for awhile, it won't let you run more than one session per user. So if
you are running gnome2 and you have an Gnome X session already running,
you can't start a VNC session as that user running Gnome2. Sucks just
as much as it did with KDE2. Lets hope they fix it as fast as KDE did.
