VNC authentication failed

We are using the VNC client / server software to enable connections to
remote servers and find it works very well in all but 2 instances....on
both of these servers we connect to the server in question, enter the
correct password, and always encounter the following: error VNC
authentication failed.

Any ideas why this would happen?  As mentioned this is only on 2 of about 8
servers and we are using the correct password.  There are other locations
able to connect successfully, it is only from this location the problems
seem to occur.
