Are these machines absolutely identical?? Eg, same video cards, same video
card drivers, same NICs, same NIC drivers?? VNC (and many remote desktop
tools) make maximum use of video cards in particular, so you may have to
play with the driver versions.
Several users have reported issues with ATI cards/drivers in particular -
the only solution being to experiment with different driver versions.

PII 233, 128 mb ram, 4 gig SCSI hd, window 2K sp2. This is one of probably
75 machines. Of the 75, 5 of them are having trouble. This machine is the
worst of the bunch. Completely unusable.
